Today the anticipation is over... we are crazy excited to announce the Nateva Music & Camping Festival Headliner... FURTHUR with Phil Lesh & Bob Weir will take our "Maine" stage at the Oxford Fairgrounds this summer, on Sunday night, the 4th of July!
Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh & Bob Weir are embarking on a musical adventure with their new band Furthur. Fans can expect Lesh & Weir to push the musical envelope with jaw-dropping improvisations and loving renditions of Grateful Dead classics, with an all star band that includes keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and percussionist Jay Lane (RatDog), drummer Joe Russo (Benevento - Russo Duo, Trey Anastasio), and guitarist John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra). New and old fans of the Grateful Dead alike will be entranced as Phil & Bob take the musical journey "furthur", exploring some of the Grateful Dead's most beloved songs in a tour that promises to keep the feet stomping and the bodies shaking.
What can top Furthur on the 4th of July? Well, nothing really... but to sweeten the pot some more... joining Furthur at Nateva is moe. who will be our Friday night headlining band on July 2nd, and The Flaming Lips who will headline on Saturday, July 3rd. Additionally, for those weekend campers who wish to arrive at the Festival in advance of the official kick off, Lotus will headline the Thursday night festivities on July 1st. Plus, Zappa Plays Zappa, Keller Williams and Moonalice will join The Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band to perform as featured artists at Nateva.
And this is just a fraction of our line-up... dozens of additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks... we're setting out to make sure Northern New England gets the festival of their dreams this summer!
Remember, the Nateva venue will allow for no more than 15,000 music-loving campers to experience this intimate, three-day spectacle of world-class bands and special entertainment, including stilt-walkers; magicians; jugglers; and art installations. Come to Oxford Maine this summer and see some of the world's most acclaimed bands including accomplished and up-and-coming jam, country, folk, reggae, classic rock, bluegrass, and indie artists.
